Hi Mac! :)
I want to share with you the experience I recently had when talking to a dear friend who was about to lose all hope. He is 42 years old and six years ago underwent two triple by pass surgeries in one day and then was in a coma for well over a month. It was touch and go for a long time. Needless to say, he can't work, recently lost his VA benefits ( I don't know the details with that), going through a tough divorce and has no health insurance and hence no doctor. The last doctor he saw was a VA doctor who told him that he wasn't a candidate for open heart surgery, to keep taking his medicine, and to go home and pray. Hill felt like he would be going to Heaven much sooner than he thought.
He felt so hopeless and lost. He was about to cry because he was giving up hope. I told him that in the darkest times of life is when God may provide us with an answer to our prayers and we become closer to Him. We prayed and I kept praying. Then I thought about asking the cardiologist I was going to see for the last time if he would see Hill for free. I thought that since lawyers sometimes do pro bono (spelled wrong), that maybe a doctor would and it sure wouldn't hurt to ask. The cardiologist is also from Iran, and since the first time I saw him, I tried to speak farsi with him...he was absolutely amazed that after 23 years I could still speak very well. He was such a nice person and I could see he cared very much for all the patients he saw each day. Anyway. At my last appointment with him, I began to tell him about my friend Hill and the situation he is in. I didn't even have to ask because Dr. Tehrani immediately told me that he would see him for free and that he needs to have a doctor. I couldn't believe my ears and of course had to give him a hug of thanks. I couldn't wait to call Hill with the news. Hill was so relieved and grateful..then a couple days later....a friend of his father also found a cardiologist that agreed to treat him for free as well. He couldn't believe that with in one week, when he lost all hope and had no doctor, now he had TWO!!! All this just happened recently and Hill is getting his medical records to take to the doctor his father's friend found. Prayer's are a powerful thing and I'm still pinching myself over it....Hill attends church in Macon with his parents most Sunday's but I'm hoping that he will come to ours one day once I can come back.... I wanted to share this miracle with you because I know that you would appreciate hearing about it....
Thanks so much for giving me the faith that I had lost so long ago. I feel like He worked through me to help my friend find his faith again as well.
God Bless you and miss you all! Much Love Beth:)
