You Have Received an Inheritance!

Dear Fellow Travelers,

It is my guess that you would respond very positively to the news that you had been made an heir of someone’s estate, especially a very large estate; however, if you are like me, you probably don’t have any such expectations. Even so, take heart because both Peter and Paul make it very clear that your Father, the God of the universe, has chosen to make you an heir of His estate. Wow! That should get your attention! Obviously, the value of His estate far exceeds the value of any earthly estate; so much so that the value of the later pales in comparison to the value of the former, not to mention that the substance of His estate is imperishable, undefiled, and will never fade away. Listen closely as you read the following:

(1) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in Heaven for you who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time (1 Peter 1:3-5; emphasis mine).

(2) He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth. In Him also we have received an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ should be to the praise of His glory (Ephesians 1:9-12; emphasis mine).

As you might guess, if you are reading along with me from 1 Peter, my message tomorrow will be an attempt to make you aware of the benefits and blessings of being an heir of His estate.
WARNING: This message will NOT be appealing to the religious!
