No, I haven't joined the pro wrestling circuit; instead, I am wrestling with tomorrow's text--Daniel 1 (the first several verses). I hope you are praying for me because I need it. The text itself is not that difficult but seeing what is covert is not that easy--for some reason.
Anyway, Daniel "made up his mind" not to defile himself by eating and drinking the very things that most people would have jumped at the chance to eat and drink--the king's choice food and wine--and he did so with purpose!
Now, it is my opinion that he did not decide to make this decision on a whim; I think he had insight that the rest did not have and I think I can prove it (or at least try) but make up his mind he did! And yet, he asked permission to follow through with his conviction. Now, that is a novel thought!
Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing each of you tomorrow morning!!
