An Amazingly Honest Response!

The following is a response I received from someone from another state, who receives my "perspectives" and I must add that it is an incredibly honest response, one that I believe most people feel but do not have the courage to verbalize. I share it with you with her permission:

"I have hoped that "WE ARE FREE" but it has been the Church that has been a hindrance. I have no desire at this time to choose to love anyone that has not proven trustworthy...I think that is healthy...There is no sense in beating one's head against the wall because others have chosen for you how you are to DO love, and that is how they "judge" you, whether you live up to their standards of how to DO love—you must let them be in control, or else! This is not spirituality but oppression. Jesus did not let the religious rulers choose for Him how He was to DO love. How He chose to DO love caused them to gnash their teeth and bring charges against Him and finally to look on, as the rulers crucified Him. They were contemptuous of Him because He did not succumb to their judgments about righteousness. He knew who He was, and that is what He wants for us, as well. We need to know who we are and not let others choose for us how we are to "be". Thanks for your writing again...and sending it to me."

There are several lines that caught my attention but this one struck like lightening: "I have no desire at this time to choose to love anyone that has not proven trustworthy." I have the strong feeling that she is very familiar with the hurt that religion and religious people bring into one's life but, then, so am I, which is probably why this line "struck like lightening!"

Mac,

Thanks for yesterday! The Lord did good in bringing in a harvest of fish and new wine. It was a splendid affair of fellowship, dance, and love. I saw many feeding as if it was their last meal. One that comes to mind is the slim Kevin Daniel. Did you see how much he ate? He must have a tape worm inside of him.

I want to comment on this ladies message. She is bold and beautiful. She is there and see's it. That is when you know you are free when you can see yourself apart form it all and man does it hit you between your eyes. I know I can be a pain in the ass/keyster,rear end/backside. I want people to feel good about me, but not to a point that I will ever again be a prostitute to being okay with them. She is free and she can trust. That trust now comes from our Almighty, and man is that the way to roll. BB King and Eric Clapton's CD is called Riding With The King. Tell her she is in the car and to enjoy the ride.

Hope she knows the top is down and the air is blowing. Tell her to let her hair down, open her mouth, and scream. She is on the ride of her life.

She is free!
