Today's Service

It seems that I have been around the world since our service ended today but, thankfully, I made a quick trip and now find myself back in front of my computer screen trying to remember, which is usually not easy for my worn out brain!

Some services are easier to remember than others and this was one of them. I am not sure just why, other than the fact that I felt that the Lord had given me something to say that was worth saying, namely, this: until and unless we see Jesus in our adverse circumstances, we will continue to view them as overwhelming, unfair, undeserved, too much to bear, even curses from God; however, the moment we see Him in them, we begin to view them more as blessings than curses.

Those two guys on the road to Emmaus definitely saw their circumstances as adverse, not to mention, overwhelming, unfair, undeserved, too much to bear, and probably even a curse from God; they did, that is, until they saw Jesus, and the moment they saw Him, their viewpoint changed!

The more I listen to John, the more I appreciate him and his ministry among us; he is gifted and has such a "heart" for worship. I truly enjoyed and appreciated his ministry to us today; it did, indeed, add so much to our service. By the way, he turned the BIG 60 this past Thursday!! SENIOR CITIZEN STATUS FOR SURE!

I was blessed, too, by our visitors--Jill & Vickie. I can only pray that they saw Him today in their adverse circumstances, and in doing so, that they also saw hope.

From what I can see, Maddie loves communion; I am praying that she will be one of those who truly loves Him and His Table! What and incredible blessings it was to watch her serve the Body of Christ to the Body of Christ!

Think about it: 63 years of marriage!! Congratulations again to Ralph & Data!

Tomorrow is Caryn Reeves 27th birthday--27 and beautiful and single!! What a prize catch, if he (whoever "he" is) could run fast enough!

To be sure, I sincerely appreciated YOUR presence today; it meant more than I could ever tell you. I love each of you very much and pray now that you will have a wonderful week!!

Grace lavished,
Your Pastor
